Faith Promise Weekend
April 5th and April 6th , 2008

This year on Saturday, April 5 @ 6:00 p.m. in the New Fellowship Hall we will celebrate the EUMC Doers of the Word—folks from our church family who regularly put their faith into action.  Bring your favorite dish to our pitch-in meal Saturday evening at our Faith Promise dinner.    Our guest speaker will be Susan Parr, Director of Brandon’s House.  Piano music will be provided by Mark Smallwood, Music Director at Red Bird Mission School.  Then on Sunday, April 6, we continue our Missions celebration with our guest speaker Ethan Nokes, Director of Confrontation Point!  Following worship Christian Outreach will have our annual Beans and Cornbread missions luncheon.  Everyone is invited!

Thank you for your continuous & faithful giving to Missions.  The recipient and giver are blessed by these acts of Christian love.  As a missions volunteer, God has spoken to my heart and has revealed to me that the work camp experiences are more of a blessing for me than for those I serve.  Check out our Missions board in the New Fellowship Hall-- it contains notes of thanks from many of the recipients of your kindness.  Take a moment to read some of the touching comments.

Each of these missions impacts people’s lives in a very special way.  They are involved in taking the Good News to teens—where they are;, building houses, providing Christian counseling, providing basic needs to those suffering from natural disasters, repairing homes, training people and supplying seed money for start-up businesses, paying delinquent bills until someone can get on their feet and improving the quality of lives.  We are involved directly and indirectly with sending volunteers locally, nationally, and internationally, being faithful to God’s Word.
