The Missions Corner
March 13 Saturday 6:00PM Pitch-in Meal Bring a covered dish and an appetite!
Special music provided by the Cardinal Singers from Red Bird Mission, under the direction of Mark Smallwood. We will have a mission message, food, music, and fellowship in the New Fellowship Hall.
March 14 Sunday 10:00AM Special Combined Service Remember—we “spring forward” that day!
The choir and the Contemporary Worship Band will take a break; the hymns and special music will again be provided by the Cardinal Singers and Maestro Mark Smallwood.
We are planning a special LIVE broadcast from our friends Josh and Kim in Indonesia, through computer technology. (We did this in December for a small group in the Epicenter with great excitement!) Hopefully it will work as well in the sanctuary so the entire congregation can celebrate this wonderful ministry.
During the service we will bring forth our Faith Promise cards for 2010 Missions, and place them on the altar.
After worship: Sunday 11:15AM Beans & Cornbread Lunch
Hosted by Rosetta Harvey & Christian Outreach Committee, for the whole congregation, this is an annual lunch held to remind us that this type of meager meal is all that many in the world have to eat. Let Rosetta know if you can provide a pot of beans and/or cornbread!
Please Note:
Host families are needed to provide overnight housing for the Cardinal Singers (about 20) after the pitch-in. This is an opportunity to get to know one or more of the outstanding youth from SE Kentucky and learn more about their school, and their love for the area they live in—it will be a treat. If you can house one or more of these young people, call Bob or Debby Youell at: 952-2583, 502-664-3108, or 502-594-6603
