Spring has
definitely arrived. Trees are budding, even blooming, birds are singing, and
the road construction crews have returned to the highway.
The
wonderful thing about spring is that new life is everywhere. You can’t miss it.
For me this is a visible reminder of God and His promise to us, given through
His son Jesus.
“Behold, I
make all things new” (Revelations 21:5)
“If anyone
is in Christ he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come.” (2
Corinthians 5:17)
These are
wonderful promises for us as people, and for us as Christians. We are reminded
every year of the hope that Christ brings to us and to the whole world. We are
not bound to the past, our rotten, dying, cold, winters. No, we are given the
promise of a new and better tomorrow. We are given hope for the tomorrow of all
of creation.
This is a
promise we cannot keep to ourselves. We are to take this wonderful gift of new
life in Christ and give it away to whoever we can. God has not forsaken us. He
has not left us to die. No, God has given us an eternal spring.
Praise be
to God,
Walter Sizemore
